Year 6 Work Experience
At Chesterfield Primary School, we actively encourage our year 6 children to apply to carry out work experience within school. Children are expected to give up some of their own spare time during lunchtime twice a week to complete these sessions.
Those that have chosen to apply and have been interviewed have gained positions of responsibility which include: working in classes with younger children, helping with the administration of the school and giving ICT guidance to staff and students.
If the children show dedication and succeed in working for ten sessions, their success is celebrated during the end of term assembly and they are rewarded with a small voucher for their efforts!
The children thoroughly enjoy their roles and we wish our new employees luck this term!
At Chesterfield School we are always pleased to welcome Parents and volunteers into school to help in the classroom and with other jobs around school! We know that Parents and Carers have many skills and experiences they can provide to support children's learning at school. We accept applications from those who are studying and need work experience to complete a course or from parents who simply wish to help the school that their children attend.
If you volunteer on a regular basis you will need to complete a police check with the Disclosure and Barring Service. Once the school has received a satisfactory DBS you are able to help out in school, the DBS is valid as long as there is not a break of 3 months between the times when you help out in school.
If you would like an application form or for further information regarding DBS checks please do not hesitate to contact Ellena on 01992 760 678.
